Flying to Budapest via Paris

We are looking at flying to Budapest from the US and connecting in Paris. The connection time is 1 Hour 25 minutes. Is that enough time to make the connection?

We have made three trips overseas a year for about 10 years and have only missed one connection in all that time. We have had a few more close calls. The answer is "WHO KNOWS?" but if this is a special trip why risk it. At Chuck D airport you will be entering the Schengen treaty area and so you will have to go through passport control and security to get to your connecting flight. Some may disagree but I think that at a minimum 2.5 hours is required. Arrive 30 min late 15 min to get off the plane. 45 minutes to board next flight 15 minutes to find gate of next flight 30 minutes to get through security
15 minutes to spare if something goes wrong. Personally i leave 3 hours, especially at airports like Chuck D. or Heathrow. But you can run and do better. Or join the Priority Pass Club and use anyextra time to get rested, cleaned up and relax.

You have a 50/50 chance of making it. CDG is a very confusing airport. I like to have at least 2 hours. Depending on your airline. There is usally several flights a day. If you miss your connection they will get you on the next available flight with open seats.

You'll make it as long as you arrive close to on time.

Actually if i were younger and more athletic and the ticket had an exceptional price i might be tempeted. About catching the next flight; since the demise of Malev Hungarian Airlines the rates to Budapest have gone up, the flights are fewer and the planes are more heavily booked. But if you try this then make sure that all of your flights are on the same airline or code share. Dont mix and match. Continental doesnt care if your Delta flight is late and they are less inclined to go through extrodianary measures. Finally write down the flight info for the next few flights that you might be able to make and carry it with you. Also research a hotel in the event you get stranded. Okay, i tend to over plan. You can simply just play it by ear if and when it happens.
