flying split to ljubljana

Does anyone know of any budget airlines that fly from split to ljubljana?

We are having a very hard time finding anything. We will be coming into dubrovnik on Oct. 21 from Mostar by bus and need to get to Ljubljana by Oct 22 to take the train to Venice. I did find one flight and it was almost $800 for the 2 of us 1 way. We could probably rent a private car and driver for that amount maybe even cheaper. If anyone knows of an inexpensive private driver and car we are open to that option as well.
Any ideas from anyone.
Thanks

Air One shows a flight on Oct 22 that might work for you - EUR 234.74 for 2 people including taxes. Departs Dubrovnik at 16:00 and arrives in Venice at 21:50 with a change in Rome. Check details at www.flyairone.it. Air One consistenty receives good comments on this site.

Hi, Lynda,

If you don't mind driving yourselves, the drive from Split to Venice is about 7 hours, or the drive from Split to Ljubljana is about 5 hours. Both are easy drives on a beautiful highway system. If you drove yourselves from Split, you could break up the drive and overnight in the Istrian region (possibly Opatija?) then make the last short leg to Venice the next day. Of course, I'm assuming you don't already have the train tickets from Ljub. to Venice in hand.

Or, the least expensive way to travel would probably be to take Dubrov. out of the equation and go via bus from Mostar to Ljubljana directly, or bus from Mostar to Split (about 4 hours) then pick up a car in Split and drive.

Again, I'm assuming a lot of things here (that you don't already have train tickets and that you don't need to go Mostar-Dbv first), but hopefully some of this helps!
