Flying from Ljubljana to Split.

My parents and are looking for the quickest,easiest and cheapest way to get from Ljubljana to Split. I read it takes about 12 1/2 hours by train with a 4 hour layover in Zagreb. What is the best way to get from Ljubljana to Split? Thanks!

If you had a car it's about 6 1/2 hours. Roads are good, driving is easy. With 3, it's not that expensive, although cross-border drop-off charges are apparently high.
