We need to fly from Izmir to London after our Rick Steve's Best of Turkey in November. Has anyone had any experience with Pegasus Airlines -vs- Turkish Airlines? We have to fly after 10:30am and I am trying to figure out what airline is better to go with that will get us to London in the least amount of time.
Did you look at their schedules and required stopovers?
It is a direct flight from Izmir to London (Stanton airport ) 4 hours versus Turkish Airlines is 10+ hours and goes through Istanbul and lands in London Heathrow after 10pm. I am just not familiar with Pegasus Airlines.
So you're trying to decide between a direct 4 hour flight vs an indirect 10+ hour flight? Sounds like a slam dunk to me. I'm not sure what your question about Pegasus is..yes, it's a legitimate budget airline, like Jetblue or Ryan Air. What are your worries exactly?
My only issue with your Pegasus route is that London Stanstead is substantially farther from central London than Heathrow is, and the transit will therefore take more time and/or money. Otherwise, I agree that nonstop beats long stopover any day. I've never flown Pegasus, but it is indeed an established Turkish budget airline.
