We are seeing that the cost of flights to Europe for next summer have gone up about 60% from what we paid last summer are any of you find that the case or am I looking in the wrong place ? thanks

I have spent hours looking myself for flights to Europe next May/June, and they are high!!!

It's awful! The fares are much higher than last year.
One suggestion that you may have already considered is finding the cheapest flight possible to any hub of a budget airline and then connecting to your final destination using one of the cut-rate Euro airlines. For instance, one year we flew into Dublin and connected to Vienna by RyanAir, which was cheaper than going straight to Vienna on the major carriers. This can sometimes be more of a headache than a bargain, but could be worth looking into!
