We are flying into Istanbul at 5pm and would like to find a place to stay in a small village along the water not too far away the first night. (We are saving Istanbul itself for the end of the trip.) We are heading down toward Cesme, Ephesus, etc. and will be tired from the long flight. Any suggestions of a place about 1-2 hours from Istanbul will be appreciated! Thanks in advance~

I don't have a specific recommendation, but you might check out the Lonely Planet guide for Turkey. Its got just about every inhabited location in it. I used it a few years ago traveling down the western coast and found it useful. It might help you identify an option or two for your trip. Good luck.
