Finishing the Turkey Tour

When the tour is over,I want to leave for the US FROM Istanbul....How do I get from Izmir (where the tour ends) to Istanbul to catch my flight home?

You can fly from Izmir to Istanbul on Pegasus Air or Onurair.

Those wishing to go to Izmir travel on the tour bus
as it goes there on the morning the tour disperses.

Last year quite a few folk hitched a ride on the
bus.

We went to Samos and then took a crazy cab ride to
Izmir for 150.00 US. Not really advisable but an
interesting experience.

Make sure you get an early flight to Istanbul to make a connection back to the States on the same day. A number of Flights leave Istanbul early.

We are flying from Izmir to Istanbul and then out to the US. Plenty of flight out of Izmir, and the tour information says they will take the tour people to the the airport that morning. I hope so..since we too, are taking the Turkey tour in Oct. We indeed, are getting to Istanbul a day early, just in case we have any sort of delays and to start working on getting over jet lag.

I just returned (last Saturday) from the 13 day RS Turkey Tour. We rode the tour bus from the end of the tour to the Izmir airport. Bus departed hotel at 0800 and arrived at Izmir airport about 0900. We were advised not to book any flights out of Izmir before 1030 (our was at 1030-no problem). We then flew Turkish Air from Izmir to Istanbul (394TL about $220/2persons) - cheaper airlines available (our guide was flying on a local airline at the same route and time) arriving in Istanbul about 1130. Since we stayed in Istanbul for another 6 days I can not give you a transfer time at Istanbul where we later flew Air France to Paris. charlie

Mary, We are returning to Istanbul also from Izmar. We designed our own tour and will fly from Izmar on Atlas Jet Havayollari A. S. at 2:00 pm to arrive in Istanbul at 2:55 pm. How ever we are returniong to Istanbul for the night to be picked up by the Sultan Hill hotel where we will stay and then they will take us to the airport for our flight to the states the following day The hotel is highly rated and reasonably priced. Our air fare is based on round trip from Istanbul and cost $200 so one way is anybody's guess.. We will be spending three days in Izmar driving along the Turquoise Coast and returning to Selcuk in the Evenings. How long is your tour of Turkey and what cities were included? Have a nice flight home and many safe travels to you and yours.

We have decided to go with a different tour group that suits out schedule better. Do plan on doing a Rick Steves tour sometime soon.
