What is a good and dependable ferry company to take to Croatia? What would be a reasonable price each way?

You don't list where you are traveling from and where in Croatia you are going to which makes it impossible for someone to even suggest a price.
I believe Jadrolinija is the main ferry company in Croatia (others will correct this if it is wrong). Check out their website for prices.

Jadrolinija is well established. They sail almost daily in season from Ancona to Split and from Bari to Dubrovnik. Their website is very good and will show you exact prices. You can also e-mail them from the website with questions, and you will receive a prompt reply. The website is www.jadrolinija.hr.
