Ferry from Samos to Kusadasi

Is it necessary to pre-book the ferry from Samos to Kusadasi? We will be arriving on Samos at 07h00 in mid-July and want to take the 08h30 ferry to Turkey. When I looked on-line, the reservation website indicated that the morning ferry was available only on the day before and the day after our arrival. It looks like we might have to wait until 16h00 to depart.

In general, I'd say yes, it's necessary to pre-book in July as this is the busiest time of the year and the ferry is smaller than a normal car ferry. Seating is limited.
