ferries to Hvar/Korcula in May

Hi, We are travelling from Slovenia to Croatia in a few weeks, and on the way from Split to Dubrovnik, wanted to stop for a day/night at Korcula. In mid-May, however, the ferry schedule is very limitedat least from what I can tell. I hate to skip these islands, but don't want too much stress of limited schedulesdoes anyone have experience with ferries in May?
thanks!

Hi Joy - the ferry times aren't always the kindest for travellers! Split to Korcula, you can catch the catamaran at 4pm. arrives 6:25pm (website - http://www.krilo.hr/en/sailing_schedule.html) You can travel from Split to Vela Luka, the port town on the other end of the island on the catamaran at 2pm and then it's an hour bus to the old town. So you would arrive about 5pm. I would personally recommend the first option however. Korcula to Dubrovnik, the ferries or fast catamaran do not operate in May unfortunately. The bus leaves from Korcula main bus station at around 6am, taking approx 3 hours to Dubrovnik. It's a great scenic route. This obviously only gives you a night in Korcula, unless you can stretch to stay 2 nights and spend a day on the island? You could pay to take a private taxi from either Split to Korcula or Korcula to Dubrovnik at a more suitable time, but this would be much more expensive then public transport (let me know if this was an option as can help you arrange). Other options, just head straight from Split to Dubrovnik (by bus) and then look to take a day tour to Korcula either from Split or Dubrovnik with one of the tourist agencies. I don't know how much this costs but from Korcula to Dubrovnik with one of the agencies it's about 25 euros return, to give you some idea of price. Korcula is beautiful and the old town is a great example of Medieval architecture, would be great if you could manage a stop here! So hope this info helps...
