Hi, I am travelling to Croatia in Sept. I can't seem to find any information on ferries from Dubrovnik to Hvar - is there a way to get to Hvar that doesn't involve half a day on a bus to either Dvrenik or Split? We are coming from Sarajevo to Dubrovnik, which is 6 hours in itself. I hate to spend more time sitting!

Check out Jadrolinija ferry company online.
They should have both a fast catamaran and the regular ferry.

Last time I took the ferry I left Dubrovnik in the morning and I was in Hvar around 3pm.

Thanks all - it looks like my best bet is the bus to Drvenik (about 3 hours from Dubrovnik) then one of the many ferries to Sucaraj on the western end of the Island. Jardolinja runs only MWF from Dubrovnik in the high season. I had been told it was six hours to Drvenik and 8 to Split, but it is more like three to Drvenik, 5 to Split. So all is good. Oh, and if anyone else is doing this, Bronx taxi service in Sucaraj will take you to Hvar town, but there don't seem to be buses.
