Family Car Camping Croatia - Plitvice Lakes and Istria

PL is a wonder. You will love it. I think that it's a 6 hour stop - get there first thing in the morning on a nice day, and you can be done easily by 2. Even with my wife, who walks slowly, we finished by 2. Then we drove to Split. For the rest, you need to provide more information for a reaction.

Yep, you're right - too vague. Our whole trip starts in Prague for a few days, then to Krakow/Zakopane for four, then Budpest for three, then PL for 2 nights. Then we've arranged a farm stay in central Istria for 2 nights, followed by a campsite near Porec for three. Finally we'll have 4 nights in Triglav National Park in Slovenia and back to Prague to meet friends for a couple of nights. We're mostly car-camping, with a couple of home/farm stays to break it up, and have hotels staked out for backups if we're miserably wet and cold. I think we're doing okay on the planning, but wondered if anybody knew this route (or parts of it) and could give us some "don't miss" or "pass it up" advice - we typically eschew "touristy" things, but aren't above them, and we're hoping to "travel/explore" as opposed to "vacation." We have strong, adventurous kids (11 & 14). I'll likely break up these areas separately and ask more detailed questions - for now, we're traveling through Croatia from Hungary - through Zagreb, PL, and Istria (Pazin & Porec). We'll be in that area for about 7-8 nights, traveling by car.

Camping on the Istrian Coast - that's where I need most of the help. Sifting through reviews here, on Eurocampings.net, and at TripAdvisor.com has yielded mixed results. Has anyone stayed at campsites on the Adriatic in the Rovinj-Porec area? Any specific places to stay or to avoid? Thanks!
