Yikes! I just found out that the Euro Cup is going on in Poland when I will be there (end of it)...am I crazy to go still?? I've been in Italy when the World Cup was going on, but never in the same country! hmmm...could be fun or way too crowded...thoughts always appreciated! thx!

Hi, Linda: I was in Vienna a couple years ago during the Euro Cup. It was a great experience. I didn't go to any of the games but met a lot of funloving, alcohol induced people. They had lots of security and I took lots of pictures of the fans. I wouldn't be worried as long as you have your reservations already.
It just so happens that I will be there the week before the games start. Kinda wished I would be there during the games to take pictures. They have parades and everything going on.

You're welcome Linda. Most of the cities will have Fan Fests in the city center where you can watch the matches for free on a jumbtron. It can be just as fun as going to the stadium: http://tinyurl.com/724ntnq

We will be in Poland at the same time and have found that we had to change our itinerary to avoid the crowds and get hotel rooms. Gdansk is already booked and it was a top destination for us because I am looking for family history. We have changed our plans to work around the soccer schedule and will not make it to the north. :-(
