Are the steps at the Terrace Houses in Ephesus strenuous to climb?

IMO, no. I'm in my sixties and managed just fine; one stops frequently to look and photograph, not just to catch your breath. We thought this was a highlight of Ephesus and worth the additional admission charge.
Enjoy!

Marjorie,
If one generally has no problem with stairs, such as if they go up/down stairs in their own home regularly, the stairs at the Terrace Houses will be no problem. If stairs are difficult for someone at home, then they would most likely be difficult when visiting the Terrace Houses. But, as the previous poster said, there are stopping platforms throughout the Terrace Houses..........you might climb 10 or so steps, then stop to look down at a Terrace House, then walk along that wide flat area (think thick lucite or glass floor), then go up or down the next set of stairs. Hand rails are provided. If you and your travel partners think that is do-able, don't miss the Terrace Houses they really are fabulous!! If going in the summer, wear cool, light-colored, long-sleeve clothing and a good hat to protect from the sun.
