In early June '12 I will travel into Turkey at or near Bodrum from Rhodes, Greece. Is process to obtain Visa more difficult with Water Ferry entry (details and documents required), or best to fly into nearby Airport. Some say a water entry is more complicated/slow. Thanks, Harold
from rhode you enter turkey at mamarias, not bodrum. as a us citizen you just pay cash and receive a stamp on your passport. no other document needed, you'll see the custom is tiny so the only people in your line are the people coming off the fast ferry, and it should take very few min. from mamarias you take a mini bus to bodrum. road condition is not great, so it'll probably take a few hours.
Thanks for the response David.
Hi Harold. Unless things have changed dramatically, from Rhodes you actually have a choice of 3 different entry ports for Turkey: Marmaris, Bodrum and Fethiye. It's not a difficult process to get your entry stamp, you'll see what's required of you when you arrive. Just bring a $20 bill for each passport. http://www.feribot.net/feribot/?lang=en
