My husband has a disability and must use an electic wheelchair/mobility scooter to get around (for more than 10 steps). Wheelchair has a sealed electric battery and can breakdown into 4 parts to go into a car trunk. We have paid for tickets with Turkish Airlines on October 4th for flight(s) from Rome to Daliman via Istanbul. They are refusing to accomdate us with the electric wheelchair and say we must "ship" it on "air cargo". They are the only airline of many that we have encountered that are not accomodating the disabilty. Has anyone else experienced this? Or flown succesfully with Turkish Air and an electric wheelchair?
Are there european or international flight regulations that could help us?
