I am going to be in Eastern Slovakia, based out of Kosice, for a week. Any suggestions on what to see in the area. I would welcome restaurant suggestions also.

A week seems like a long time for that area. A day or two is enough for Kosice. A trip to Spis castle will probably eat up another day. There are a number of decent places to eat on the main drag in Kosice. Look up the lonely planet guidebook.

Thanks for the suggestion. My grandparents came from villages in the area, so most of my time will be out of the city doing some research, but I do realize it is not a tourist mecca.
