My wife and I are planning to visit a number of Eastern European countries for a 2 week trip during December. Most likely we will rent a car to get places. We would be looking for some qaint villages, winter atmosphere, Eastern hosptality and some upper scale / spa stays - possibly nearby areas for snow activities. We are open as far as countries are concerned, eg Slovenia, Slovakia, etc.

I can recommend spa Karlova Studanka in the Czech Republic. It is a quaint village. Very likely there will be snow there in December. There is a ski resort less than 5 miles away on the highest mountain of Moravia Praded (means great grandfather). If you want to know more you can check google or contact me or both. In Slovakia try Helios in Strbske Pleso in the High Tatras mountains. They are alpine, very scenic. Helios is also on google.
