Eastern Europe by CAmper

I have just spent the last few months converting a panel van into a camper and now I am planning a trip round europe in it. I am thinking of setting off around the end of April, and would like to see eastern europe, probably making my way down to Bulgaria ( I am english so from Calais!) , I will be travelling by myself (with my dog!) and am a 26 year old female. Although I am excited about the trip, I am concious that I am doing this by myself and would like to meet many people along the way. Any advice on the best way/ places to do this in Eastern europe would be much appreciated, as well as any recomended places to see of stay with a camper. Thanks
Jen

First choose countries you want to see. Then read about them. Get as much information as you can. There is a lot of it on Internet. I found this site which can be useful for you: http://www.campingcompass.com

That sounds like great fun, Jen. Just one thought, because your new, bespoke, camper is your transport, and your sleeping place, and your home-from-home as well, it will be vital to keep your metal friend happy and healthy. If it were me I would have the Chilton guide to whatever the base vehicle is and a list of (internet?) mains dealers and other specialists for the van, as well as a wiring schematic for the camper conversion. Probably having a decent set of tools along with van/camper specialist tools. And, although 40 years ago I could drop the engine from a VW with my eyes shut and one arm tied behind my back I probably would struggle these days. I'd probably take a refresher course on the mechanics, especially if I could specialize in the van maker. I hope you have a really great trip...
