Easter Sunday happens to be our Vienna to Prague travel day. We love Easter markets/festivities. Should we plan to remain in Vienna as long as possible Sunday or train over early to Prague? Which city will be more festive? Also, any tips on Easter Monday in Prague appreciated.
Not sure which one would be more "festive", but I spent Easter in Prague once. The older sections of the city were absolutely overrun with tourists. For me, that´s probably the only time it´s ever felt like a crowded day at Disney World in a European city.
I have been to both cities, just not over a religous type holiday. That said as a general rule I would say Prague is a much more charming city generally speaking so I would spend more time there then Vienna.. I guess it depends on what you want to see on that day. Pragiue will ahve more "old town feeling" and Vienna will have a more "modern" feeling as a general take. Hope this helps a bit! Elliot
