I am planning on taking Rick Steves 14-day Greece tour that begins in Athens on 4/25. I have read that Easter is one of the biggest holidays in Greece and so I would like to arrive in Athens a couple of days early to enjoy the celebrations. Does any one know if businesses will be open on Easter Saturday and Sunday? Are there any places to go, and things to do, where I could participate and enoy in the Easter festivities? Thank you.

Businesses will be open on Saturday, but almost everything will be closed on Sunday. Just be sure you have doubly-confirmed all your reservations for hotels, ferries, planes and rental cars for Thursday through Monday, as this is THE busiest weekend of the year for Greeks returning home for the holiday and everything is booked solid.
