At least in Prague, Warsaw and Krakow, most ticket agents speak English. You won't have any trouble.
Thanks Tom
In a lot of Eastern Europe, it is a lot easier to buy your tickets from the train/travel offices in the city itself.
Years ago in Prague, we got our tickets in town at a travel/ticket agent close to the Marriott hotel. Similarly, in Warsaw, Budapest, Sofia, I have found it easier to buy in town where the folks speak English rather than at the train station. This is especially true the further East you travel (i.e. Poland, Bulgaria, Romania, etc.)
Also, there is generally no difference in the cost between the two places so there is nothing to gain by going all the way out to the station.
When you get to the ticket window in the RR station, ask for someone who speaks English.
There is nearly always someone available when I ask.
