Dubrovnik to Korcula -- Bus?

I just want to confirm that there is a bus that runs from Dubrovnik to Korcula. Rick has stated so in his book, and I've seen it mentioned multiple times on this message board, but just want to confirm since an ocean has to be crossed? Does the bus go by ferry to the island? And if not, we are going in June, and Rick says the ferry only runs to Dubrovnik in peak months of July and August. Any other way to get to Korcula?

We took the bus from Dubrovnik to Korcula a few years ago and they did drive our bus onto a ferry. I admit, it did feel a little odd but we made it - everyone just stayed on the bus. I'm not sure about other options.

Hi Saints. Yes there is a bus from Dubrovnik to Korcula everyday departing from the main bus station in Dubrovnik at 3pm (with the exception of Sunday when the bus goes at 6:30pm). This runs all year round. Usually they add an extra service in July/August but probably not in June. The bus goes to Orebic where it boards the local car ferry to Korcula (about 15-20 minute crossing) and then the bus goes onto Korcula Town. You can stay on the bus or get off and go upto the ferry deck (which I'd recommend as then you have nice views approaching Korcula Old Town). You pay one price which includes the bus journey and ferry crossing. In addition to the fore-mentioned bus/ferry option, there is usually a car ferry from Dubrovnik to Korcula which runs from the start of June to the end of September, twice a week. The company which runs this, Jadrolinija, has not yet officially confirmed if they will run this service. You can see the latest information on the website - http://www.jadrolinija.hr. In Rick's book he maybe referring to the passenger only catamaran between Dubrovnik & Korcula, which goes only in July/August. Finally, there is a shuttle bus operated by a local travel agency on Korcula & Dubrovnik called Korkyra Info. They run transfers between Dubrovnik & Korcula daily. It is more expensive than the public bus, but quicker (& maybe a little more comfortable!). Their email address is info@korkyra.info. Enjoy your trip to Korcula.

The bus to an island has thrown people before, but it is only a narrow channel that needs be crossed. There are frequent ferries and water taxis between Korcula and Orbiec, if you will be in Korcula a few days, Orbeic has one of the nicest sand beaches on the coast, worth an afternoon.
