Approximately how many miles are covered driving down from the Northern Boarder to Dubrovnik ?

Hi Ron, Which particular route were you thinking of? I ask because the main freeway is a bit inland from the coast but faster, whilst the coastal roads will take longer. At any rate, I like to use www.ViaMichelin.com for information such as this. I randomly put in Opatija, a town at the eastern edge of the Istrian peninsula, as a starting point and ViaMichelin gave me a distance of 623 km to Dubrovnik (using the main freeway, the A1/E65).

Hi Angela, thanks for your reply and valuable information. I think my wife and I will take about a week to 10 days to drive a rental car from Venice to Dubrovnik ( if it proves possible ). Being from Califoria we are used to the coast highway 1 vesus much faster highway 101. Maybe this is similar and we'll do a bit of both ( just like at home ). Thanks. Cheers! Ron
