Is it possible to drive between these cities? I'm having difficulties finding a route. Also, any suggestions on lodging or restuarants would be helpful...

Probably what's throwing you off is that little chunk of Bosnia. Head down the coast, take the Ploce/Tranj ferry, and the rest is straight forward. I've never been to Montenego or Bosnia, but suspect you'd have to go back the same way.

Hi, not able to directly answer other than to say it can be done. We took the bus from Dubrovnik to Split in May. The road followed the coast, it was very beautiful. Look at the bus lines, see what towns they stop at along the route, that will define it for you. We stopped three or four times along the route.

Jill - We drove this route a couple of years ago. It was very easy and the signs were good. I believe the freeway was being extended, but I don't know if it was or how far. We took the coast road the entire way and it took about a half a day. We have used the Via Michelin maps website for several trips (www.viamichelin.com) and usually talk with some of the locals who make suggestions on our routes.
