IN ATTEMPTING TO RENT A CAR IN SWITZERLAND AND DRIVING TO SLOVENIA I FIND THAT MOST COMPANIES DO NOT ALLOW THIS. ARE THERE COMPANIES THAT DO ALLOW?

Yes, there are several; you just have to keep looking.
I rented my car from sixt.com and drove from Frankfurt to Budapest.

Are you planning on returning the car to Switzerland, too? If not, and you are planning on dropping it off in Slovenia then you may incur the dreaded multi-country drop off fee, which can be pretty hefty.
That aside, I've always heard great things about sixt.com (as Carl suggested) and we've always had success with AutoEurope.com. Two places to check if you haven't already...

Most will these days, but you may have to pay extra. Sixt says it allows trips into Slovenia, but no mention of extra charges, so confirm with them before you book. AutoEurope notes fees may be 20-30% higher than normal for travel into many eastern European and Balkan countries, but no mention of how much more in Slovenia specifically.

When we looked on Auto Europe for Austria - Slovenia, it was coming up around 60-70EUR for the trip to go through Slovenia "Eastern Europe Fee" to compare... chris
