Mary Ellen, I have not driven this route. I just thought that I would recommend a good resource for travel planning trips in Turkey. Tom Brosnahan was the author of the Lonely Planet Turkey guide for many years. I've heard him speak and he is quite knowledgeable about Turkey. He now has a website with a lot of info on planning a trip to Turkey. It is not the best organized site, but there is a lot of info there. It also has a travel forum where you can ask questions on travel in Turkey. www.turkeytravelplanner.com
