Hello. I'm traveling to Poland with friends in May, and am thinking of flying from US to Berlin and then driving to Poland. Does anyone know how far of a drive it would be to Krakow or Warsaw, or anything sight-worthy in Poland (within a day's drive from Berlin)? I'm trying to decide if it's worth it to save the $400 or more hassle than it's worth since time is money on vacation. We'd be splitting the cost of a rental car 4 ways. I have been to Berlin (1 yr ago) but my friends have not, so I would make the most of it by spending a day sightseeing there. Also the idea of driving on the autobahn is appealing as my last Germany trip was only via train. We'd also need to get back to Berlin for the trip home, so I'm thinking it might be a better value to just fly round trip to Poland and skip Berlin?

I recently just traveled from Poland to Berlin and if I remember correctly, it was about 3 hours. And there is pretty much nothing right as you get into Poland, it is at least 45 minutes to get to anything of interest. We pottery shopped, and it was WELL worth it...in the area of Boleslawiec. If you want to know the travel times for misc travel see the below listed web site, I have found their info to be pretty accurate.
