We are going through Izmir (Ephesus) Turkey and Piraeus (Athens) Greece on a cruise and I am curious if anyone can recommend a tour company or guide that will take us to the ruins in both locations. We have a group of 9 people that I am trying to organize less-expensive yet dependable excursions that what the cruise-line is offering. Thank you.

We used www.ephesustours.com. The owners are a husband and wife who did an excellent job for our 7 people. Our trip was from Kusadasi, but I know that they do trips from Izmir as well. You can customize the torus listed online.
As a tip, the Roman house ruins at Ephesus are definitely worth the extra money to get in. They are remarkably well preserved and are just fascinating!
For Athens, you can go straight to the Parthenon yourself if you like and get a guide at the gates. However, I am sure that there are guides from the port as well. We did it on our own though, but were staying in Athens for a few days.
