Day trip from Prague to Cesky Krumlov?

Is it possible to take a day trip to Cesky Krumlov and return to Prague onthe same day? We have one spare day in Prague but must be back there for the next morning. Is there a bus or train option that would let us leave Prague early in the morning and return late that night? Or perhaps a private tour? Or should we just forget about this?

If you check the Grayline website at grayline.com - they have a day tour going to Cesky Krumlov - it's a total of about 8 hrs. Prague walking tours also has a day trip and I'm sure other tour companies have similar day trips

If you can you should definitely go to Cesky Krumlov. It's easy to see the whole place in a day and there is much to see and enjoy. In my opinion it's more enjoyable than Prague as there are fewer people and you don't have to be on your guard for people trying to scam you.

Hi,
I agree with Lori that its well worth the trouble to see Cesky Krumlov even if you have to miss a day in Prague. A day could be enough but you would miss the charm of the evening, musicians in the street on the bridge, the castle lit up is like no other castlei Europe, in my opinion. And if you have time, take a rafting trip down the winding river throught the rustic towns. I believe its 2.5 hours to there by train, just dont't know if the train runs back in the evening.
