I plan to visit the Black Madonna in Czestochawa. An old tour book made note of a mercantile museum or some such thing. Now the only info in tour books is on the Shrine. What else is there in Czestochowa?

There isn't much else in Czestochowa besides the Jasna Gora Monastery which houses the Black Madonna. However, as Jasna Gora is a place of great historic importance and pilgrimage, there's quite a bit to see other than the Madonna including a treasury and museum which displays Lech Walesa's Nobel Peace Prize. I'm a sucker for medieval icons, and while in Poland I developed a great interest in Polish history, so it was worth the trip to me. But if you have a limited time in Poland, there are many, many other places that would be higher up on my priority list.
