CZECH CROWNS PAYMENT

I need to pay for my apt in Prague in either czech crowns or euros soonas I check in.
Im arriving late on friday. Where can I get roughly $400 in crowns or euros?
I dont think an atm will let me withdraw that much.

1) contact all of the financial institutions that have issued the "plastic" cards you are taking and tell them when and where you are going (a must!) 2) ask your primary financial institution to raise your daily limit for the length of your trip to whatever $$ limit you will need (if they won't go high enough - ask two of them)
3) call whoever it is you have to pay and explain the situation to them and tell them you will need two or three days to obtain all the funds due from ATM machines. If (2) and/or (3) do not work, you might want to consider getting sufficient foreign currency here in the US before leaving for Europe. I am going to Prague on August 15 but I am staying at a hotel the first couple of nights and they only wanted a credit card number (which I gave to them over the phone after I called them) to hold the reservation. A few more options that carry some fees: Exchanging Currency (Aus $) for Euros or Kronas on arrival, getting Euros from your bank before you go, or if you have a Credit Card that allows cash advances at an ATM, they can have a much higher limit. Run the numbers to figure out your fee, but the first two typically run about 5 to 7% over interbank rate, the third can vary wildly, but if I pre-pay my credit card, or send payment just before I go, I have held it to about 3%

I ended up getting some euros and czech crowns thru my credit union. The transaction fee for both was $10 total. Exchange rate was roughly 5 cents difference between the credit unions rate and visa's.
It was worth a little extra cash to make sure I had some cash of both denominations.
The majority of what I use will be thru atm's when Im there
