Hello all! My husband and I are interested in going to Cyprus for a long weekend in August. We want to go for my 30th birthday and our 2 year wedding anniversary. We want a place on the beach with a swimming pool. Our goal is to relax, swim and tan. If possible, we would want to do some snorkeling or scuba diving. We also really like casinos. We don't mind noise or hustle and bustle, but I don't want to be fighting people for beach chairs or we overrun by children. We can spend about $150/night. We'll fly in and out of Larnaca. What city or part of the island should we stay? Does anyone have a particular hotel to recommend?

I suggest you check out Paphos which is at the western end of the island. There are several beach hotels. We stayed with friends so I can't offer any recommendations. Paphos has interesting things to see when you're not on the beach--interesting old port, Roman ruins, churches. Paphos has an airport though we used Lanarca.
