Is the Euro the accepted currency or is Hungary still using it's own system? going in the spring and was wondering?
Hungary still uses the forint ($1 = ~174 forints) as currency, not the Euro.
During our travels this summer, we used forints everywhere in Budapest. However, there are hotels that post rates in Euros (and accept your Euros). Because we wanted to pay cash in forints, this smaller hotel had to convert their Euro rate to forints for us. I think the conversion rate in forints was somewhat better than the Euro rate!
We spent 2 weeks in Budapest in 2006. The forint was the accepted currenccy but Euros are happily taken by many, tho that makes things costlier for YOU.
Hi:
They use there own currency called the " Forint ".
ive been there they accept both curriences. take advantage of exchange rates by bringing your own money there they have several exchange booths at no charge.
