Has anyone taken a 3 day cruise to Santorini, etc. from Athens? Which do you recommend? Has anyone ever taken the ferry from Athens to Santorini and back again in 3-4 days? We are thinking early June.

I would consider a "Cruise" very different from the ferries. The Ferries are pretty basic transportation, much like a plane, but take longer. Many of the newer, faster, catamarans and hydrofoils do not even have an outside deck. Santorini, being a major destination, has service multiple times daily from Athens (Piraeus), with travel times ranging from 4 hours on a highspeed, more direct, to 8 hours on a slower ferry with more stops. Basically, figure you will spend most of a day getting there, and most of a day getting back. I can't help you with cruises, but they would probably include several stops, with most of a day on Santorini.
