I'm planning a trip to visit athens and the greek isles this summer. I'm looking for any suggestions on a good affordable cruise that leaves from Athens and visits the islands (including Santorini). We're thinking of spending up to 5days for the isles and a few more in Athens on the return leg of the trip before flying out.
Any help is appreciated, thanks!

You might want to have a look at www.greecetravel.com and specifically the Travel Agents listed on the website. They will certainly be able to recommend the best cruise options to fit your timetable and budget, and also help with planning for whichever Island you choose to visit.

Hi B - To be direct - You don't need an expensive cruise out of Athens - You can jump on a Ferry and hit the Cyclades(Santorini and Mykonos being the most popular) and spend practically zero!!! With only about 5 days those two islands will more than captivate you!!
