You need to do some research. Go to your local library and get some travel books.

As to best way to get to Croatia - you need to provide more information. Where in Croatia do you want to go - Dubrovnik, Split, Zagreb, etc. etc.

Also, is money no object - or are you looking for economical options.

You really need to spend time framing the question otherwise folks here cannot provide you with decent answers.

It depends on the time of year and what you want to do in Croatia. During tourist season, there are multiple companies running ferries. By car, it's a relatively short drive from Venice, through Slovenia, and south to Croatia. There are probably train connections, but these aren't as direct and won't get you all the way south. Tell us more about what you want to do.

Hayley, like Arnold says, you need to do some research. Check out the Lonely Planet website for a good overview; also, Rick Steves Eastern Europe guidebook devotes a whole chapter to Croatia. However, if you are going to the coast a ferry is your best bet.
