I stayed right in Diocletians Palace in a sobe (apartment). It was a fantastic location and Tina (the owner) was fantastic. Here is the website:

I stayed at Base Rooms sobe last fall and my room was great. Only caution is that teenagers gather on the steps of the adjacent temple on weekend evenings and can be very noisy until late - loud until about 1:00 am the Saturday I was there. Sunday evening was calm and quiet.
