A family of five adults arriving in iSTANBUL Saturdy evening would like to take a tour of the city to familiaqrize ourselvesx with the area. Get the RS guide book on Istanbul if you do not already have it. The co-authors of his book belong to a travel agency headquartered in Istanbul that provided us with our guide for our RS 13-day Turkey Tour. The guide lives in Istanbul but if she is busy with other RS tours, I am sure they have other highly qualified guides.

If you don't get a chance to set something up before you go, there are a number of travel agencies in the Sultanhemet area that would be more than happy to help you out. Your hotel may even be able to recommend someone and will know of tours you can take. If you are thinking of taking a cruise up the Bosphorus, I can personally recommend a company called I.B.O. - great service and reasonable prices.

In early May of this year we booked a day tour starting in Sutanhemet from Backpacker Travel (www.backpackertravel.net). Our guide's name was Dilek. She was good and the price for the day was reasonable. I would recommend both the agency and the guide.

The agency Charlie is referring to is SRM Travel in Istanbul.
We booked our Istanbul guide through them in 2008 and she was excellent. Can't remember her name though.
