Cheap Guided Tours in Ephesus

This August, my husband and I are travelling with our 15 year old daughter (i.e., "another rubble heap?") to Turkey via cruise ship. We get one day to "do" Ephesus. Is there an INEXPENSIVE guided tour anyone can recommend? As a frame of reference, $95pp is not in my "inexpensive" category. We want to see the ancient city, but also want transport/guidance to Mary's House, St. John's Basilica outside of the city. Suggestions???

Hi, Judy. Here is what I did. First, I researched suggestions on the Tripadvisor and CruiseCritic forums. Using this information, I had an idea where the best place to find less expensive private drivers would be. When we arrived, we went to those areas and talked with a couple of drivers until we found one we liked. We only wanted to be driven to Ephesus and then picked up a couple of hours later. We bought our own tourbook inside Ephesus and used it to tour. I don't recall what we paid except that it was what I had anticipated from my research. Both of the websites mentioned will have a lot of recommendations and you can decide what will work best for you. You can definitely find someone who will drive you to the places you mention and perhaps even act as a tour guide for way less than $95pp.
