DOES ANYONE KNOW IF THERE ARE CHEAP FLIGHTS FROM MIKONOS TO ISTAMBUL FOR SEPT 10 OR CAN WE REACH ISTAMBUL BY FERRY?
REGULAR OLYMPIC AIRLINES IS VIA ATHENS AND COST ALMOST 400.00 US. HELP IF YOU CAN!!!!! PILAR FROM MEXICO

There is no ferry from Turkey to Mykonos. In the past during the summer months Atlas Jet offered charter flights from Istanbul to Mykonos. You can check their website to see if they still offer this. If they do not and if you want to fly you will have to fly to Athens first. An alternative would be to go to Ayvalik or Cesme in Turkey to take a ferry to Lesvos or Chios Island in Greece, then take a ferry to Mykonos from Lesvos or Chios.

I'm sorry, I gave you suggestions for Istanbul TO Mykonos instead of Mykonos TO Istanbul. The same suggestions still apply, just in reverse. Take a ferry from Mykonos to either Lesvos or Chios, then another ferry across to Turkey, and then go the rest of the way to Istanbul by bus or by plane from Izmir.

If you consider that Turkey is Non-EU and Greece is EU, then they also compete for tourists, and add in the fact that they are not the "best" of neighbors...you will find that there are not many direct, or at least cheap connections. Your best bets would be: Get to Athens, then train to Istanbul, or maybe a somewhat expensive flight or get to Samos, Ferry to Kusadasi, bus to Izmir, cheap flight to Istanbul.
