Cheap bed in Orhid, Macedonia and/or a free, secluded place to camp.

Cheap bed in Orhid, Macedonia and/or a free, secluded place to camp.

1) I am looking for the absolute cheapest dorm/hostel/or bed in Orhid town for 1 or 2 nights. I've been told it's as cheap as 5euro (300 dinars) in September (since tourist season is over). But I need a name, address of a place?

2) If I can't find a 5 euro/night bed I prefer to sleep in my 1-person tent in a quiet corner of Orhid lake (on the beach, and not too far from the center). I will have to leave my backpack in the tent (when I go sightseeing), but I will, of course take my valuables with me, but the backpack has to stay, so I'd like advice from someone who has camped at Orhid before. I prefer not to pay to camp.

Thanks.

Why don't you check out the main hostel webpages to see what the hostels are charging. I am not sure that Ohrid is that cheap but I could be wrong.

We stayed at the Hotel Alexander right on the water front last year - but this will be way out of your budget. It was a great hotel, nice location and suited us perfectly since we were not looking for cheap budget lodgings.

We entered Macedonia from Albania and managed to find a cab drive to take us into town (he had just dropped someone off so was happy to have a fare). He had some rooms for rent but these were high above the town and not to our liking. So, you may be able to find folks who have rooms to rent - unfortunately, I do not have the gentleman's contact info.

If you are looking for a place to stay you should get the citys name right first. It is OHRID not orhid...... 5 euros a night good luck. You re better of sleeping on a park bench If you have 70 euros a night VILA GERMANOFF is a fantastic place to stay . That will get you a whole floor of a villa with a great lake view right next to some exquisite macedonian restaurants. it also comes with 2 bedrooms.
But anyway. sounds too luxury for your 5 euros
