Looking for lodging for July is very difficult so far anyone make a suggestion around $100 per night/4 nights?
Or have you stayed at Gite Le Vagabond- is it OK?

I see no answers. Tripadvisors really does have the best info on questions of this type. I see you've already been there--but did you only look at their reviews? If so, try their forums:

We stayed in les Houches at les Campanules for 3 nights last summer. It was reasonably priced and had a good ( not inexpensive)restaurant included. Breakfast was good. There is a bus that connects Les Houches to Chamonix.
There are several small towns next to Chamonix which have less expensive hotels, but a car is almost necessary in the summer.
