Cesky-Krumlov to Budapest transfer

Any suggestions for a transfer service (chauffeured car/van) from Cesky-Krumlov to Budapest? Connections by train are long and cause a late arrival time. Hoping our party of 4 can find a transfer that is a better alternative.

John, my husband and I will be in Cesky Krumlov in September. Last month, while searching the internet to make our plans, I remember coming across a company, Mike's Chauffeur Service, which seems to go many places in the Czech Republic and Hungary. I know nothing about the company, and don't know if they are reputable, but it might be a place to start. Good luck to you. www.mike-chauffeur.cz

We learned about Mike's service from the Rick Steves book. We used Mike to take us from Krakow to Prague. He was on-time, polite, and friendly. I would definitely suggest using his service.

Just returned, best bet is Hostel 99's (or any other) minivan to train station in Linz, Austria for about 20 USD each. Gorgeous country side and our driver was the owner of the hostel who is Ivy League educated and we had a great 2-hour discussion of world politics.

We just returned too, and had terrific service from the shuttle service at Lobo Pension (in Rick's book under Cesky Krumlov). We got the train in Linz, which might work for you, but they might actually be willing to do a transfer to Budapest. Since they are based in CK, it's worth checking with them. We were four people, and they agreed to a specific time at our request, separate from their normal schedule. I highly recommend the company.

A friend and I used Mike's Chauffeur Service when we traveled from Vienna to Prague in October 2008. On the way we wanted to stop in Cesky Krumlov and two villages where my grandparents were born. Mike was fantastic! He was so knowledgeable about the area and history and is also the nicest person. A few days later we his father Frank took us to Kutna Hora and Sternberk Castle. It was more like traveling with a family member and friend, not a hired driver.
