Cesky Krumlov in winter

My son and I are thinking of doing an overnight stay in Cesky Krumlov in early January. Has anyone been there at this time of year? Is it perhaps better to visit in the warmer weather?
Thanks, Linda

We were in Cesky Krumlov in late November a few years ago. Yes, it was frosty in the mornings, but there was no snow at that time. The streets in the older part are uneven cobble stone and a little hilly. Maybe slick in the winter. Also you will not be able to do a complete tour of the castle, and you will not want to kayak the Vltava. In spite of all those negatives, I would still give it a shot. The castle museum is open and the tourist crowds are gone. You will get a better feel for the town as it was many years ago.

Thanks for that Jerry. We quite enjoy places that have less tourists, and I think the scenery will be beautiful there in Winter, so we will definitely add it to our itinerary,
