Car vs Bus in Santorini

We're weighing the convenience and flexibility of a car versus the freedom from parking worries and the hassle of driving on Santorini. We would appreciate comments and advise from anyone on the issue.

Parking's a nightmare in July and August but otherwise not too much of a challenge the rest of the season. The one exception to this would be finding a parking space in Oia before sunset time.
