I would like to rent a mid-size car for the first week of June in Dubrovnik to travel around the region. Can someone recommend a best approach and/or company?

I have rented a car twice in the past two years in Croatia. I use Eurocar. To save money prebook the car from home. I believe they have an office in Dubrovnik.

I called today to confirm that I could pick up in Split and drop off in Vienna with NO DROP-OFF charges, and they said, yes, that they did not charge extra for drop-off in another location.
This is a master site that searches all rental cos, including international and local.
That said, I can't tell you yet whether it was a smart move or not....ha ha.

Try Auto Europe. They get quotes from all the different car rental agencies. As an FYI, we used them last fall to rent a car from Sixt, which is one of the larger car rental companies in Europe. We picked it up from the Hilton in Dubrovnik, which is a lot more convenient than going back to the airport to pick up your car.
