Going to rent a car to visit small (ancestral villages) outside of Gdansk and outside of Poznan. I am familiar with American companies, but they might not be the best deal. What car rental companies do you travelers recommend?
If I book online with expedia or something, is there insurance coverage sufficient?
Since my State Farm Ins is not valid in Europe, what coverages are prudent?

I would definitely get the extra insurance in Poland. The roads while improving (massive construction projects with EU money) are not the safest. I travelled there about a month ago and one of our group was trying to rent a car for sight-seeing. He found the rates prohibitely expensive and we were warned by our hosts that driving was not advised. Best of luck!
