Planning on train or bus from Krakow to Ostrava or Olomouc in eastern Czech Rep, then rent car for week drive to Cesky Krumlov and sights along the way, end up dropping car off in Prague. Does anyone have suggestions for rental companies in Czech Rep and bus companies out of Krakow ?.

When we rented a car in Prague, which we picked up at the Prague airport, we used AutoEurope (it's a consolidator). We've used them for other trips to Europe, and have been happy with the cars and the service. Our route was a bit the reverse of yours. We started in Prague, then spent two nights in Telc, visiting castles in the area and enjoying the town of Telc. Then on to two nights in Olomouc, a bigger town, but also nice, and not touristy. From there, we made a very long drive to eastern Slovakia, to spend two nights in Levoca. From there, south to Eger, in Hungary. We then dropped the car in Budapest.

Thank for the info, so far thou having hard time finding a rental company that rents from Olomouc with drop off in Prague.

Great trip- We really enjoyed the trip and driving was the perfect way to do it. We picked up our car in Brno and returned it in Pilsnen no problem. I think it was Europcar they had a lot of choices I just checked Auto Europe and you can pick up in either Ostrava or Brno and return in Prague. -David
