We are planning our trip to Croatia and wanted some feedback on whether it is worth it to rent a car and take it with us on the ferries to some of the islands. The car gives us options once we get to the islands but I am not sure it is worth it.

Depends on the details and your personal preferences - this is not a question anyone else can answer (at least not as stated with no details). I just got back from Croatia, visited several islands, sometimes with a car, sometimes without. There are hundreds of islands there, scattered across a wide region, they'll all different, things vary dramatically from one season to the next, and everyone has their own personal likes and dislikes - among other variables. So your question is kind of like asking "I'm planning a trip to America - should I rent a car?"
